Prize distribution of Drawing/Painting and SAIL Story writing competition held

The Prize distribution ceremony of the Drawing/Painting for BSP school students and SAIL Story writing competition was held at Nehru art gallery, Civic Centre on December 19, 2022. Shri M K Rana, CGM (Contract Cell-Works) from SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Shri Rana in his address congratulated the school students for their stupendous efforts, creativity and urged everyone to work towards a sustainable future by using renewable energy. Shri Rana inaugurated an exhibition of selected entries from the competition in all 3 categories, which are displayed at Nehru Art gallery, Civic Centre from December 19-21, 2022.

The theme of the Drawing competition was ‘New India with Renewable Energy’. The competition was organized in 3 Categories , i.e., category A for classes 3 to 5, category B for classes 6 to 8 and category C for classes 9 to 12. Almost 300 students from over 10 BSP schools participated in the competition earlier.

Chanchal Bharti from BIVV Sector – 11 Khursipar, Dipti Verma from BSP EMMS Sector – 5 and Mansi Kumari Mandavi from BIVV Sector – 11 Khursipar won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in Category – A (Class 3 To 5). Ritik Goswami from BIVV – 6, Gautami Lahre from EMMS -7 and Rutuja Nikam from EMMS – 6 won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in Category B (Class 6 To 8)while Arunabha Kumar Das from SSS-10, Meenakshi Sahu from BSP SSS sector -10 and N Meghna from BSP SSS sector 4 won the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively in Category C (Class 9 to 12). A special prize Judge’s choice award was given to A. Hannah from EMMS V. Apart from this, 2 consolation prizes each in all 3 categories were also given away.

PR department jointly with Bhilai Arts Club with support of Education department of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant organized a Drawing/ Painting competition for students of BSP Schools under the banner of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The competition was held on December 11, 2022 at Sr. Secondary school, Sector VII.

Shri Jacob Kurian, GM (LA & PR), Shri Prashant Tiwari, GM (PR), Ms. Shikha Dubey, GM(Education), Shri R J Raju, AGM(Education), Shri P K Nandi from Arts Club, Bhilai, parents and awardees from various BSP schools were present at Nehru art gallery during the Prize distribution ceremony. Shri K Moses and Shri Lomas Sahu evaluated the entries as Judges for the competition giving weightage to originality of ideas and concept.

SAIL organized a “SAIL Swarna Jayanti Story Writing Competition –2022’’ to commemorate the “Swarna Jayanti Year” of SAIL since its incorporation on 24th January, 1973.  . The theme of the competition was ‘SAIL’s contribution in Nation building in the last five decades.’ Shri M K Rana felicitated the winners in Hindi language;  Shri Dani Prasad Sharma, ex-BSP employee who secured the 1st prize and Dr. Kamlesh Gogia, Associate Professor, MATS university, Raipur who secured the 2nd prize . The competition was open to any citizen of India including employees of SAIL and their families.
